The Sights & Sounds of Christmas 5K and 1k Kids Fun Run will be held Saturday December 7th, 2013 at 9:00 am. Due to the growing popularity and size of the race, we are debuting a new course that will showcase the beautiful downtown and historic district of San Marcos. The course is mostly flat with some gentle slopes and one small grade hill.

The race will begin and finish at the San Marcos Plaza Park.  Chip timing will be used.  Every 5K entrant will receive a technical t-shirt (technical shirts guaranteed to all pre-registrants) while the 1k participants will be given a cotton t-shirt and a ribbon for participating in the race. The awards ceremony will follow the completion of the 1k race with the overall 5K male and female winners receiving a $100 gift card to Core Running towards a pair of shoes and a unique Santa trophy to top finishers in each five-year age group.

5K Entry: Super Early Reg: $20 until Oct 26th | Early Reg: $25 Oct. 27th – Nov 22nd | Pre-Reg: $30 Nov. 23rd – 29th | Race Day: $35

Kids 1K Entry: 12 and under Pre Reg $10 | Kids Pre-Reg til Nov 29th | Kids Race Day $15

Race day registrants are not guaranteed a 5K technical tee or 1K cotton tee

Come see Santa and Mrs. Claus on opening night.  Santa will fly in promptly at 6:30pm and land at the back of the park on the soccer fields. Welcome Santa & Mrs. Claus with a warm holiday welcome and walk through the park to Santa’s photo area. Don’t forget to bring your wish list!

You’ll know Santa has arrived when you see the big spot light coming down the historic San Marcos River. Follow Santa down the river as he steps out to greet all the wonderful families. The river boat arrives at 6:30pm at the two bridge crossings in the park.
